The Alpha Course Are you new to the church community? Have you been around for a while yet still have faith questions? Are you not sure what you believe or why you believe it? Do you desire to grow in faith and community? Then the Alpha Course is a great place to start!
The Alpha course is an opportunity to explore the Christian faith in a relaxed, non-threatening manner during ten thought-provoking weekly sessions. Since 2002, approximately 7,000 people have attended Alpha at Hope.
People attend Alpha for a wide variety of reasons: Some want to investigate whether God exists and if there is any point to life; others are concerned about what happens after death. Still others may have attended church on and off all their lives, but feel they have never really understood the basics of the Christian faith. Many are interested in further deepening the roots of their Christian faith.
Each week, participants meet for a meal and a talk on topics such as "Who is Jesus?", "Why did Jesus die?","How can we have faith?", or "Does God still heal today?" The talk is followed by small-group discussion. The course also includes a retreat weekend with teachings on the Holy Spirit.
